| Welcome to the Homepage of Marco Frenschkowski!
His main project at the moment is the writing of a new Introduction to the New Testament, giving a survey of international research and evaluating the many hypotheses discussed in the last decades. He is also editing an annotated German edition of the complete works of the American writer H. P. Lovecraft (10 vols. of which have appeared so far), and other literary texts. His literary magazine Das schwarze Geheimnis (1994-1999) has become a collector’s item. He lives in Hofheim am Taunus, a small town near Frankfurt, Germany, but regularly also speaks at conferences in the USA and other countries. He regards religious studies and theology as good neighbours that should be in regular contact, though they have a clearly-defined border, and can never substitute each other. His publications in other fields (especially American and British literature, folklore studies, and questions of language contact) almost always touch on matters of religious history also. It is planned to include documents and papers, and give links to publishers and related sites at a later time and to update this site regularly. It has been established mainly to meet the need for an accessible inventory of the publications of Marco Frenschkowski, and is kept up by Ulrike Wyche.
